Since January 2024, I've served on the Town Council as Chair of both the Environmental Committee and the newly formed Resiliency Committee. Prior to that, I served for three years on the Town's Planning Commission, where I was instrumental in drafting the Comprehensive Marsh Management Plan; crafting the Beachwalker zoning initiative, and drafting a sweeping Tree Preservation Ordinance to protect one of our most valuable natural resources.
At various times from 2010 to the present, I've served (1) as a member of the ARB work group that is charged with transitioning the ARB from a developer-owned to a community-led entity; (2) as a member of the Sandcastle Task Force; and (3) for 12 years, as chair or co-chair of Kiawah’s “Our World” lecture series.
For the past 15 years, volunteering with Kiawah community, I’ve served as a Kiawah Property Owners Group (KPOG) Board member; and as the past President, Vice President and Secretary of the Governors Club Ladies 9-Hole Golf League.
In my 30-year career with Merck & Co., Inc., I led sales teams, managed Business Intelligence, served as a Solutions Consultant, and headed Executive Communications. Prior to joining Merck, I had a 4-year career as an award-winning news reporter at the Doylestown (PA) Daily Intelligencer, and the Mendham (NJ) Observer Tribune.
In my free time, I achieved Ruby Life Master status (duplicate bridge).
